Hatch Patterns and Poche

Overview

Aligning Hatch Lines With Objects

This is a handy tool if one is trying to show tile lines on a bathroom floor or ceiling grid lines on a reflected ceiling plan. It is also useful in laying out siding on an elevation.

AutoCad draws all poche lines in reference to something called the SNAPBASE. The default value for Snapbase is (0,0,0). To reset the snapbase to be a point relevant to your area to be hatched, type SNAPBASE on the Command line, the click on a point with the mouse.

NOTE: Changing the snapbase of your drawing is not a retroactive function; Only subsequent hatching will reflect the new Snapbase value.

Properly Scaling a Hatch Pattern

In the future, there will be a table that clearly identifies the hatch pattern names, properties and scales required for making the poche look exactly the way you want, in your drawing. As this is clearly a work in progress, please bear with me.
